Using the SIM Card

Using the SIM Card for the first time
  1. Power off your phone
  2. Insert your new SIM card into the first SIM card slot
  3. Power on your phone
  4. Your phone should connect on a GSM/WCDMA/LTE network.

Please also note, using this SIM card to surf Internet or make calls outside coverage countries will significantly reduce the data and voice usage capacity, or even cause the SIM card to stop functioning.

Receiving calls

People anywhere in the world can dial your UK number directly to reach you, for example, +44774132 12345.

Making Calls through Reverse Call

This SIM uses reverse call for outbound calls. When you dial using reverse call, the call disconnects and you receive a return call connecting you with the number you want to speak to.

If you fail to get a call back, redial the number followed by the “#” key.

Making local calls

For the purposes of this card, local calls include calls to any country in the same slab as the country from which you are calling. To make such calls use the full international format. E.g. to call a UK landline number from any country use (for example) +44 207 222 1234.

Emergency Call Number.

Please note Europe emergency call number “112” will NOT work in this card.

Making calls to India

Remember to add the country code when making calls to India. Check that the number begins with +91 before dialing. E.g. to call India number 022 24216344, dial +91 22 24216344

Helpdesk

TSIM’s customer service agents can be reached via email at services@tsim.in or phone +91 22 24216344.

Should you use automatic or manual network selection?

There are two ways of selecting a network. You can either set your handset to use AUTOMATIC Network selection or MANUAL selection. When using automatic selection the handset will look for all networks that it is able to attach to and logs onto the first network it finds. When using manual selection you must manually search through the networks and select a network to attach to. We recommend using automatic network selection. Please refer to your handset manual to check the default settings for your phone.

Setting up call forwarding/divert

To activate call forwarding/call divert, dial *102(phone number in international format)#. You will get a confirmation message on the screen. For eg. *102912224216344#. To deactivate dial *103#

Setting data on your phone

Please ensure Mobile Data & Data Roaming is enabled on your phone. Setup APN (Access Point Name) manually as follows:

Set Access Point Name (APN) in your smartphone to “globaldata” without any username or password

On Android Phones, tap the Menu button  /  Settings / Mobile networks  / Access Point Names / New APN / Set Name & APN as “globaldata” / OK / Save
On iPhone: Tap Settings / General / Network / Cellular Data Network / APN and enter “globaldata”. Leave username & password blank.  Tap Network
On iPhone6 & above:
a. While connected to WiFi, open Safari and goto: m.apnchanger.org
b. Select Manual
c. Enter “globaldata” in APN Name (small letters & no spaces) and click install.
d. If asked for a PIN enter your iPhone 4 digit unlocking PIN
e. Approve the installation of the unsigned profile.
On some iPhone devices you will need to remove the existing current Profile (found in Settings-> General -> Profile -> Existing Profile -> Remove) before installing the Globaldata APN.
On Windows Phone: Go to Apps list / Settings / Mobile Network / Add Internet APN / Set APN as “globaldata” / Save

Checking your Balance

You will periodically get automatic balance messages on your phone. Another way to get balance information is to dial +163 162 10 001 from your phone and disconnect after a few rings. The call will not be answered and you will not be charged for that call. You will later receive an SMS with balance information.

Online Refill

Use this link to instantly add credit to this card. This link requires you to know either the SIM serial number (printed on the SIM) or the SIM phone number. If you are sure of neither, it is best to use the drop down under “New Card or Refill?” and choose Refill. Our helpdesk will trace out your earlier TSIM phone number and if necessary verify it with you before crediting the card.

Refund Policy

You are eligible for a refund on unused talktime/data with usage rounded to the next slab. I.e. If you use 2.8GB after subscribing to a 6GB SIM card, your usage will be taken to be 4GB, and you will get refund on the difference between the price of a 4GB and 6GB card. This refund is available for 12 months after payment.

  3. Dr Soumyajit Poddar (verified owner)

I had very bad experience with T SIM card. I bought 2 nos Tsim for me & my wife during visit to Egypt. On 18.12.2018 after landing at Cairo about 10AM I found both card inactive. I called my father at Kolkata by other persons mobile (Matrix sim).He instantly communicated customercare at Mumbai. The Kolkata agent said that it will be activated soon, after that he did not attend the phone call of my father. The T sim customercare were helpful but failed to activate it at that time. My father contacted customer care about 16 times till 11.30 PM but sim was not activated. Next day In the morning (19.12.18) it was activated. It was really very frustrating and uncertain about this sim.

    • Services Tsim

We apologise for the delayed activation of your SIM card. Due to the time taken to deposit your payment by our agent and the short time available, the credit was not applied in time for your travel. We have revised our procedures for urgent activations so that this does not repeat. Thank you for taking the time to describe your experiences.

  4. anchal12gupta (verified owner)

Used in Sweden and Amsterdam and there were no issues at all with SIM card.

The only problem I had was while getting the SIM delivered to my place, I paid for 1 day delivery but it took almost 4 days to get the SIM delivered. I had to make so many calls to TSIM customer care and even visited Bluedart office multiple times. I was surprised when I came to know that Bluedart has misplaced the SIM card but luckily I finally got it just a day before my travel.

    • Services Tsim

We apologise for the inconveniences with delivery. We keep performance statistics of our delivery partners and will not hesitate to change them to improve customer service. Thank you for finding the time to detail your experience.

    Its awesome.

Good sim to carry for world traveler. I used it in turkey & Greece. Had no problem.

    • Services Tsim

Thank you for your kind words and for confirming the countries in which it worked.

  8. Deepak Jariwala (verified owner)

The SIM was useful in USA and Mexico. The only downside was there is no direct calling. It is reverse calling. Was very useful in the GPS I needed for driving.

    • Services Tsim

Thank you for your kind words. This card uses a combination of direct and reverse calling. In the countries you mentioned it uses reverse calling as you rightly pointed out.

    • Services Tsim

UPDATE: USA and Mexico are now direct dial in this card.

  9. Sandeep Nyati (verified owner)

Good product. Worked satisfactory in Turkey & Greece. Was very useful. However with the competition with Jio, it may require price cut.

    • Services Tsim

Thank you for your kind words. We will watch out for competition.

  10. Atanu Maulik (verified owner)

I have been using this card for a while now and visited quite a few countries. For the most part it worked well. But I was quite disappointed with it during my recent visit to Kenya and UAE. First of all, data was not available in Kenya. Which is a huge disappointment as data is more important these days than voice calls. Next, the rate was twice in UAE than the normal rate. Most disappointing of all is the fact that there is NO WAY to recharge if I am abroad and run out of data. Obviously, I can’t use my Indian credit card as I am not getting the OTP on this TSIM number and strangely, TSIM does not allow the use of foreign credit cards. This policy of TSIM is really bizarre given the fact that this card is exclusively for use abroad. Also they did not provide any credit despite I being their loyal customer. I contacted their customer support asking for some data credit which I promised to repay as soon as I return home. But they refused. I was absolutely let down during my recent trip and I am seriously considering using some other SIM for my next visit abroad.

    • Services Tsim

We apologise for the inconvenience caused to you. As an old customer, our helpdesk should have arranged to get your card functioning in some way. Thank you for bringing to our notice the difficulty in recharging your SIM card when the Indian mobile is not available due to the OTP. The OTP (or 2 factor) is an RBI requirement, however we are looking for a way to work around this issue. We will also redouble efforts to get data coverage in Kenya. As for rates in Dubai, our hands are tied due to the duopoly in that market.

    • Services Tsim

We are glad to report that we have been able to add data service in Kenya. Thank you for your feedback enabling this.

  11. George Varghese (verified owner)

T SIM worked great throughout my recent Europe trip. Connectivity for calling as well as for data was excellent around places like Paris,Interlakken, Lucerne, Venice, Florence & Rome where I stayed . I would recommend T SIM for travellers to Europe anytime.

    • Services Tsim

Thank you for your recommendation and for detailing where the SIM card worked.

  12. Sohini Das (verified owner)

It is a good sim for using in many countries. Helped me in Nepal and China.

  13. Nilima

    Very happy with the sim

  14. Jani (verified owner)

I had purchased 2 sims for our travel to Europe.

They worked perfectly through out my trip.

Onlt one minor hitch. On return one of the sim did not work in UAE.

    Otherwuzr very satisfied with it.

    • Services Tsim

Thank you for your kind words and balanced review. As per our records, one of your SIM cards registered to the correct network right away, while the other was in the process of doing so. It went offline before it could register on the correct network (DU). Some times the SIM takes time to register. We recommend turning off the phone for 5 – 10 minutes if it does not register at once in a new country. We apologise for the inconvenience.

  15. Pankaj Mehta (verified owner)

    Excellent experience always
    Very reliable
    Immediate response from Mr Moin

    • Services Tsim

Thank you for your kind words.

  16. Amit Kumar Srivastava (verified owner)

I used Moto Phone. Auto latch was not happening at all. I needed to manually search the network every time I changed the country, to check each operator available and try to latch in one by one. After multiple attempts only, I could be able to latch in one of the available operators. In Estonia (Tellin) it did not work at all.
However once it latched to any network and signal is shown, it worked properly. Further the calling through app did not work at many places where free wifi was available. Instead I used whatsapp call from those locations in Helsinki, Switzerland and Paris.

    • Services Tsim

This SIM card will normally select network automatically in all the countries you traveled in. However, if it does not immediately do so, it is recommended to turn off the phone for 10 minutes and turn it on again. If initially you manually select a network, then you will need to do so everywhere you travel till you switch back to auto mode. We regret the inconvenience.

  17. Arijit (verified owner)

Nice and a very convenient product to use. No Signal interruption as of now

    • Services Tsim

Thank you for your kind review.

  18. Umesh Varshney (verified owner)

Works well once one gets the settings on the phone right. A major advantage I see is that one can keep the same number for all the trips. If TSIM could send the balance information on a regular basis (possibly through e-mail) it would help a lot.

    • Services Tsim

Thank you for your kind words and suggestion. We will act on it.

  19. MS (verified owner)

    Worked well in Europe
    seamless connectivity across countries
had some difficulty in Kenya but got through after some tries

  21. dari_darshan (verified owner)

Had taken Refundable Lifetime Global SIM Card for my Europe trip. Wanted it for data only. Didnt make any calls. Data connectivity was very good. Fast and reliable. Used it for all google maps to travel within Italy(Rome, Pisa, Venice) Swiss and Paris.
Details on remaining data was sent via SMS. This is somethings not right data. First time when i activated the SIM it showed only half of actual capacity to be available. Ping the helpline on whatsapp. They can give the exact details. They are quick at responding.

    • Services Tsim

We apologise for the trouble you had with our SMS balance feature. Thank you for your balanced review and for confirming the areas in which the card worked.

  22. uvarshney (verified owner)

I used the SIM for trips to Korea, Canada and USA. The SIM worked well. However, in the US it required change of settings for data. It would be helpful, if at the time of the sale the customer is alerted about the possibilities of the need of change in the APN settings.

    • Services Tsim

Thank you for your kind words, for confirming the countries in which it worked and for your suggestion. It is being forwarded to the concerned people for action.

  23. Abhishek Rai (verified owner)

Have been using tsim for about more than a year now. Very easy and quick response customer care. Hassle free recharge system.

    • Services Tsim

Thank you for your kind words and continued support.

  24. AJ (verified owner)

I used the TSIM card for my trip to Portugal, Spain and Greece & the network was extremely good, even in the remote areas of countries I visited. No problems whatsoever. Every time I travel, I used to buy the local sim card. But this time I am so happy to bought the Global TSim card. No more worries to visit local stores and buy local sim cards. I brought 2 GB for cost of Rs. 2400 so basically it was just Rs. 1.15 per MB, too cheap and a steal deal.

    • Services Tsim

Thank you for your kind words and detailed review.

Since the countries mentioned by you fall in the same group, you will get a total of 200 minutes for use. These 200 minutes can be entirely used in either of the countries or in any combination thereof.

For eg. in the "Upto 200mins pack",  you may use the pack entirely for 200 local mins OR 200 India mins OR 200 SMS OR 500MB Data in the respective slab of countries. Alternatively, you may use the pack in any proportionate combination of mins, sms OR data in these countries.
